Small Jobs Done Properly, Not Just Quickly
Digging services in Adelaide cover the jobs that fall between a shovel in the shed and a full excavation crew — a trench for a new water line, twenty post holes along a fence, an ag line to stop a soggy corner of the yard, or a footing trench for a retaining wall. They're smaller jobs, but the same things go wrong: services get hit, trenches wander off depth, and backfill settles into a trench line you can see across the lawn for years.
We take on digging work of all sizes across the metro area, with mini excavators and augers for open ground, narrow machines for 900mm side access, and hand digging around established trees, existing pipework and anything too sensitive for a bucket. Services are located and marked before we start, depths and falls are checked as we dig, and we backfill and compact properly or cart the spoil away — whichever the job needs.
How We Work
1. Mark Out & Locate Services
We confirm exactly what needs digging and where, then locate and mark underground services so pipes, cables and irrigation stay where they belong.
2. Dig to Depth
Mini excavator, trencher or hand digging depending on the space and the sensitivity of the work — some jobs simply aren't machine jobs.
3. Check Levels & Fall
Depths and grades are checked as we go, so drainage trenches fall the right way and footing trenches sit at the depth the plans call for.
4. Backfill or Clear Away
We backfill and compact once your pipe or footing is in, or stockpile and remove the spoil if the hole is staying open for the next trade.
Digging Jobs We Take On
No job is too small. If it needs a hole, a trench or a bit of ground moved, we can get it done without tearing up the rest of the yard.
Trenching
Service trenches for water, power, gas, irrigation and telecommunications conduit, dug to spec and depth.
Post & Pier Holes
Auger-drilled holes for fence posts, verandah posts, pergolas and deck piers, clean and to depth.
Garden & Landscaping
Planting beds, tree pits, pond and water feature digs, and levelling work through established gardens.
Drainage Digs
Ag lines, soakwell pits and stormwater runs graded so water moves away from the house.
Footing Trenches
Strip and pad footing trenches for sheds, retaining walls, extensions and garden structures.
Tight Access Work
Narrow side access, rear yards and confined areas where only a mini machine or hand digging will fit.
Why Not Just DIY It
Adelaide clay is hard work with a shovel, and a hired machine you've never operated is a fast way to damage a fence, a pipe or yourself. A crew that digs every day gets it done in hours, at depth, without the repair bill.
Machines sized to the job — no oversized plant chewing up a lawn for a two-hour dig
Hand digging available around established trees, existing services and sensitive areas
Trenches dug to consistent depth and fall, not eyeballed, so drainage actually drains
Underground services located and marked first, protecting you from strike costs and outages
Spoil stockpiled neatly for backfill or carted off site the same day
Backfilling and compaction included, so you aren't left with a settling trench across the yard
Fully insured operators, Dial Before You Dig searches on every job, and the yard left tidy when we leave.
